About Meg Mc Elroy
I am a PA. This stands for Physician Assistant, but for me, it also stands for "Patient/Practitioner Advocate”. I believe collaboration and partnership are necessary in today’s world of medicine. We know so much about the human body and have significant advances in modern medicine, but we easily get overwhelmed by the amount of information (and options) to which we have access. In late 2018, I decided to become a health entrepreneur. There are only a handful of PA’s that have taken the path to own/co-own a medical practice, and even fewer PA’s involved in the practice of functional medicine. It’s fun and challenging, but definitely has its challenges! What sets me apart from other functional medicine practices? EXPERIENCE: I have been involved in functional/integrative medicine for over 20 years (my first mentor was a student of Dr. Andrew Weil and Dr. Christiane Northrup). I’ve helped hundreds of patients reverse disease processes and manage chronic symptoms, including diabetes, autoimmune conditions, thyroid disorders, environmental illnesses, and more. LESS PILLS, LESS LABS: I love that more patients and practitioners are getting involved in functional medicine, but too many are well-intentioned practitioners are practicing “green allopathy” (i.e. giving a “natural” pill for every ill or lab abnormality). I utilize supplements and labs, but I don’t believe in OVER-utilizing these. HUMILITY: I can’t know everything, and healing comes in many forms. If I feel a patient would be better suited seeing another specialty, or be better off with another practitioner, I will refer accordingly. That’s why we are the Center for COLLABORATIVE Medicine! If you know of anyone seeking my services, referrals are the best compliments and are easy ways to help others! Please check out my clinic’s website at www.collaborativemed.com for more information.
