About Jessica Brown
First and foremost, it's about people. I love working with passionate, mission-driven individuals and organizations that are committed to social impact. This belief in the power of human connection is even more true as technology becomes more prevalent; it's our connection to our communities and local problems that enable us to succeed on a bigger scale. Change happens through micro-interventions and entrepreneurship at the local level, that can build through communities from the ground-up. I've developed this perspective through 12 years working in management consulting, the public sector and non-profits both in the US and abroad. I use design thinking, innovative financing approaches and my background in the arts to develop creative solutions for organizations with social impact aims. Prior clients and experience include leading an in-house Accelerator at the XPRIZE Foundation, Program Management at the U.S. State Department, organizational redesign and metrics evaluations at the World Bank, and market entry strategies/ business case analysis for private equity firms. I have supported budding social impact entrepreneurs through 1776 and the Halcyon House Social Impact incubator. Strong proponent for economic development through the arts and creative economies. Specific skills include: • leadership and mentorship • strategy-setting for programs and organizations • operations and budget management of complex, multi-faceted programs • prize design and incentive based competitions • design thinking and "voice of the customer" approaches • future forecasting of exponential technology trends • organizational redesign and operating model reform I have lived and worked on 3 continents across 7 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Turkey, India, Switzerland and Italy. I am a sci fi nerd and own a Husky whom I adopted while living in Saudi Arabia.
