About Tom Richardson

I've helped some of the world's fastest-growing SaaS businesses to scale their operations globally, build world-class teams, and develop genuinely exceptional people. I started my career as an Intern at Google, 12 months post-IPO, when the UK team fit into one small office in Soho Square. I caught the software startup bug, and have never looked back. Since then, I've been fortunate to have lived and worked in London, Tokyo, Shanghai, California, Boston and Sydney, at Stripe, InVision, Acquia and WPP. In 2014, I became a VP at Acquia at 29, responsible for building out a Strategic Partner program that grew from $300k ARR to more than $16m USD annually during the course of my five years with the company. During the same period, Acquia grew from $60m to >$200m revenue, before being acquired for $1 billion USD in August 2019. In 2019, after working with the company as an Advisor for 18 months, I moved from the US to Australia to lead the APAC business for InVision. InVision is a SaaS Design platform, valued at $1.9BN USD, that's used by 5 million people worldwide, and 100% of the Fortune 100. From there, the great InVision team in Australia, Singapore and India built out APAC to 6,000 customers, doubled our ASP, and signed banner Enterprise logos like NAB, CommBank, Singtel, Singapore Airlines, Globe Telecom, Siam Commercial Bank, and AIA Group. In April 2021 I joined Stripe as Head of Startups & SMB, APAC and Japan, and became a Startmate Investor and Mentor. At Stripe I'm part of the APAC Leadership Group, and am responsible for five teams across Sales, Account Management and VC Partnerships.
