His responsibilities include overseeing the integration of IoT for site safety devices and AI for video recognition, enhancing operational efficiency and safety in urban development projects.
Previous Experience in Technology Leadership
Before joining Ping An Urban Tech Inc, Zhaoyang Sun held several significant positions in technology management. He worked as the Vice President of Technology at CDP Group, Ltd. from 2015 to 2018 in Shanghai, China. Prior to that, he was a Senior Engineering Manager at Samsung Electronics from 2012 to 2015 in Palo Alto, USA, and an Engineering Manager at mSpot from 2009 to 2012, also in Palo Alto. His early career included roles at Motorola and Siebel, where he contributed as a Senior Software Engineer.
Educational Background
Zhaoyang Sun holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering from Tsinghua University, which he completed from 1990 to 1995. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1999 and 2001. This educational foundation has equipped him with a strong technical background that supports his leadership in technology.
Key Projects and Innovations
Throughout his career, Zhaoyang Sun has been involved in various innovative projects. At Ping An Urban Tech Inc, he launched Smart Site, which integrates IoT for site safety devices and AI for video recognition. He also led the development of the Design Collaboration feature, utilizing Cloud Drive, BPM, DWG, and BIM web rendering technologies. His collaborative efforts included designing and implementing the Cost & Revenue Analytics module for clients.
