Prior to joining Planned Parenthood, Ahn held several positions in mental health and education. Ahn worked as a Family Therapist at the Ackerman Institute for the Family from 2019 to 2020. Ahn also served as a Program Facilitator and Digital Strategy Fellow at Girls for Gender Equity from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, Ahn was the Director of Caregiver Services at Hamilton-Madison House from 2020 to 2022, focusing on support services for caregivers.
Educational Background in Social Work and Public Health
Ahn holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University - Columbia School of Social Work, where Ahn studied Clinical/Medical Social Work from 2017 to 2020. Ahn also earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health during the same period. Ahn's educational background is complemented by a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, completed from 2008 to 2013.

Ahn centers their practice on the experiences of marginalized communities, including queer, trans, gender expansive, disabled, displaced, and diasporic peoples. Ahn engages in ancestral reclamation practices, utilizing one of their ancestor-given names, 'Geunsaeng'. This commitment to inclusivity informs Ahn's work in developing health education content and providing training on best practices in sexual and reproductive health education.
Diverse Professional Experience
Ahn's professional experience spans various roles and organizations. Ahn has worked as a Program Consultant at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and as a Researcher for LGBTQ+ Health Projects at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Ahn also contributed to ANCIENT SONG DOULA SERVICES as Program Director for the Prison Doula Program and previously as Program Coordinator and Grant Writer.
