Matic Perovšek serves as the Founder, CTO, and Data Scientist at PredictLeads, a role he has held since 2015. He is responsible for setting up the system architecture and developing the back-end of the platform using Ruby on Rails. Under his leadership, a team of over 20 developers has worked to enhance the scalability of PredictLeads and drive business growth. He has implemented distributed website crawlers using Python and RabbitMQ for data extraction, and developed machine learning algorithms in Scala and Apache Spark that are currently utilized in production for information extraction.

Matic Perovšek has a strong educational background in Mathematics and Computer Science, having earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Ljubljana from 2006 to 2011. He furthered his studies at the same institution, achieving a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer and Information Science from 2011 to 2012. Additionally, he completed another PhD in Computer Science at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School from 2012 to 2016. He was a Junior Researcher in the Department of Knowledge Technologies from 2011 to 2016, followed by a position as a Researcher from 2016 to 2019. His work during this period involved advanced research in knowledge technologies and contributed to his development as a data scientist. He also has experience as the Founder, CTO, and Director of Sportifiq since 2010, where he has been involved in various technology-driven initiatives.
Achievements
Matic Perovšek has made significant contributions to the field of data science and technology. He developed a text preprocessing and information extraction pipeline that processes news articles in near real-time using distributed systems. His work includes creating machine learning algorithms that are actively used in production environments.
