Between 2009 and 2012, Ankan Mandal was the Manager of Design & Strategy at ZoomIn Online (India) Pvt. Ltd. Prior to that, he completed a Diploma Project Trainee stint at Magppie International Limited from 2007 to 2008. He also gained early experience as a Design Intern at IDIOM Consulting Pvt. Ltd for a month in 2006.

Ankan Mandal earned a Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Design, specializing in Lifestyle Product & Accessory Design, from the National Institute of Design, where he studied from 2005 to 2008. Before that, he attended the National Institute of Fashion Technology, where he studied Lifestyle Product Design and obtained a degree in Fashion Design from 2000 to 2003.
