She worked as a Social Transformation Research and Policy Advocacy Intern at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Accra, Ghana, for eight months in 2019-2020. Additionally, she served as an Object Collections/Labelling Matters Intern at The Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford, United Kingdom, for one month in 2019. Her experience also includes a role as a Research Officer at the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) for three months in 2020.
Education and Expertise
Abibah Sumana holds a Master of Science in African Studies from the University of Oxford, which she completed in 2019. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History and French from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, graduating in 2017. Her educational background includes a Diploma in Arabic and French Languages from the Ghana Institute of Languages in 2013. She completed her secondary education at Notre Dame Girls' Senior High School, where she studied General Arts.

Abibah Sumana has a keen interest in social anthropology, particularly in relation to African development, climate resilience, and sustainable and inclusive rural development. Her academic and professional pursuits reflect her commitment to these areas, as she engages in projects that aim to foster community development and resilience in Ghana.
Involvement in Model United Nations
Abibah Sumana has participated in the Ghana International Model United Nations, serving as a Delegate for UNICEF in 2016 and as a Rapporteur for the UN Security Council in 2017. These roles provided her with experience in international diplomacy and policy discussions, further enhancing her understanding of global issues.
