Prior to her current position, she worked as an Underwriting Manager at QBE Insurance from 2018 to 2019 and as a Portfolio Manager from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, she is a member of the European Executive Committee at QBE IBERIA and part of the Enterprise Talent Group of the QBE Group.
Previous Experience in the Insurance Industry
Before joining QBE Insurance, Patricia Puerta held various positions in the insurance sector. She worked at XL Group as the Deputy Casualty Underwriting Manager for Iberia & LATAM and as the Life Science Practice Leader from 2002 to 2013. She also served as a Senior Casualty Underwriter at Catlin from 2013 to 2015. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Claims Handler at Aon for eight months in 2002.
Education and Expertise
Patricia Puerta holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, which she completed from 1996 to 2001. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master's Degree in Insurance and Risk Management from Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca in 2002. Additionally, she served as a Professor for a Postgraduate course on Risk Management and Insurance at the University of A Coruña from 2017 to 2018.
Advisory Roles and Collaborations
Patricia Puerta actively collaborates on projects related to diversity, cancer research, philanthropy, and digital entrepreneurship. She serves as an advisor to the start-up Rookfy and the INADE Foundation, promoting risk management in Galicia.
