Current Role at Re:Coded
Elia Maniscalco serves as the Head of UX/UI Design Instructions at Re:Coded since 2022. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the design instruction curriculum and ensuring it meets industry standards. He has designed and implemented an original, in-house curriculum for UX/UI Design, aligning with current industry demands. Additionally, he has achieved outstanding Net Promoter Scores (NPS) of 95 and above for all delivered courses, demonstrating the effectiveness of the educational products offered.
Previous Experience in UX/UI Education
Elia has extensive experience in UX/UI education, having worked as a Senior Lead UX Instructor at Skills Union from 2020 to 2022. He also served as a UX/UI Instructor at Skillshare for nine months in 2020 and as an Academic Director at RED Academy for five months in 2018. His role as a Lead UI & Communication Design Instructor at RED Academy further highlights his commitment to teaching and mentoring in the design field.
Educational Background
Elia has a diverse educational background in design. He studied Design & Cultural Heritage at Università degli Studi di Palermo, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) from 2019 to 2021. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Design and Visual Communication from the same university, completed from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, he has pursued various design-related courses, including a Nanodegree in UX/UI Design from Udacity and a workshop in editorial design at Ritmo.
Speaking Engagements and Contributions
In 2019, Elia participated as a Guest Speaker at the Marketing Week Live & Insight Show in London. His contributions to the design community extend to hosting a design podcast called 'UX Pills,' which focuses on UX/UI design and current trends in design education. This platform allows him to share insights and engage with a broader audience interested in design.
Research and Ongoing Education
Elia is currently pursuing a PhD in Human-centred Design at Università degli Studi di Palermo, which he began in 2021.
