His responsibilities include fostering collaboration among scientific, industrial, and academic partners, with a focus on the U.S. Intelligence Community. Durant frequently engages with sponsors across the Intelligence Community to advance national security missions.
Previous Experience in National Security
Prior to his current role, Charles Durant accumulated extensive experience in national security. He worked at the U.S. Department of Energy as Deputy Director for Counterintelligence from 2010 to 2019 and as Director of the Operations and Investigations Division from 2009 to 2010. His earlier roles include serving as a Senior Counterintelligence Analyst at the U.S. Department of Defense for six months in 2006, and as Chief of Investigations for the U.S. Army from 2003 to 2005. He also worked as a Counterintelligence Investigator for the U.S. Army from 2001 to 2003.
Educational Background
Charles Durant holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Excelsior University, which he completed between 2005 and 2006. He also earned an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the City Colleges of Chicago Overseas Division from 1986 to 1988. His educational background supports his extensive career in intelligence and national security.
