Work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Debangshu Mukherjee has been serving as an R&D Associate Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory since 2021. In this role, he is part of the Computational Sciences & Engineering Division, where he applies big data analytics combined with electron microscopy to tackle materials challenges. His tenure at Oak Ridge National Laboratory follows his previous position as a Postdoctoral Researcher from 2018 to 2021.

Debangshu Mukherjee holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University, which he completed from 2013 to 2018. Prior to this, he earned a Master of Science (MS) in Materials Science & Engineering from Boston University, where he studied from 2011 to 2013. He also achieved a Master of Technology (MTech) in Metallurgical Engineering and a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
Previous Research and Teaching Roles
Before his current role, Debangshu Mukherjee worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 2018 to 2021. He also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State University from 2013 to 2018. In addition, he held positions at Boston University as an Engineering Dean's Fellow and a Graduate Teaching Fellow, contributing to both research and teaching efforts in the field of materials science.
Internship Experience
Debangshu Mukherjee gained practical experience through internships at notable organizations. He interned at the National Metallurgical Laboratory in 2007 and at Larsen and Toubro in 2009, both in India. These internships provided him with foundational exposure to the metallurgical and engineering sectors.

Debangshu Mukherjee completed his high school education at Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir in India, where he earned his High School Diploma from 1992 to 2006. This early education laid the groundwork for his future studies in engineering and materials science.
