About Taylor Lucy
Grew up tinkering with robotics and computers, competed in and won several robotics and programming competitions throughout highschool. Built a virtualized dual headed gaming PC out of retired server parts for myself and my partner, and a custom split keyboard with customized firmware for myself. A fan of all things tech, but mostly PC hardware, keyboards, video games, robotics, power electronics, biorobotics, aerospace engineering, rocketry, .... you get the idea! Also cats. Cats are great. Previously a member of the Nashville Symphony Chorus, which is where my pfp comes from. I've got over 7 years of experience in the industry. So far I've: - Managed both private and public clouds and worked with openstack, docker swarm, and kubernetes. - Been a full stack engineer working in nodejs and mongo on AWS where I had the only DevOps or cloud experience. - Been a backend/API dev on a team of two building custom websites and SaaS products for startups. - Built an automated load testing platform over a weekend that was needed to support over 10 teams of developers, each building APIs that needed to handle 5k+ requests per second. - Migrated a company from private infra to public cloud - Migrated another company the other way from public cloud to private infra - Designed a platform to automate a ticketing process for developers to request machines with lists of dependencies that an OPS team then built chef recipes for, replacing it with a web portal that built those same chef recipes automatically on the backend deployed the machines, reducing the OPS team's workload from overbearing to almost none. And I'm excited to try out new roles and new engineering problems in the future!
