Söderström holds a Master of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management from Linköping University, which she completed from 1986 to 1990. Additionally, she pursued studies in Political Science and Government at the same university for one semester. She has also completed professional training, including a Ledarskapsprogram at Ledarstudion in 2015 and a Diplomutbildning i styrelsearbete at Östsvenska Handelskammaren in 2010.
