Andrew Young attended the University of New Mexico School of Engineering. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from 2003 to 2009. He continued at the same institution, earning a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from 2010 to 2014. During his master's program, he designed a MEMS-based thermally actuated Fabry-Pérot interferometer for his thesis.
Technical Expertise
Andrew Young has considerable expertise in programs such as L-Edit and AutoCAD for auto-generation of masks. He performs multi-physics simulations of MEMS devices using COMSOL and generates 3D models for FEA based on fabrication processing steps via in-house software. He also updates Sandia MEMS Design Tools for new versions of AutoCAD.
