Current Positions

Daniel Scales is currently employed at Sandia National Laboratories as a Research Development Laboratory Support Technician. He began this role in 2022. His earlier experience includes working as a Heavy Equipment Operator at the New Mexico Air National Guard from 2008 to 2018, a Driller at BMS Drilling from 2008 to 2010, and an Air Transportation Journeymen in the United States Air Force from 2005 to 2008.

Educational Background

Daniel Scales has an extensive educational background. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Mexico from 2012 to 2014 and an Associate's degree in General Studies from Central New Mexico Community College from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, he has an Associate's degree in Construction Technology from the Community College of the Air Force (2008-2015) and an Associate's degree in Transportation Science from the same institution from 2005 to 2015. He also studied Mechanical Engineering at New Mexico State University from 1998 to 2000.

Specialized Training

Beyond formal education, Daniel Scales has obtained several certifications from specialized training programs. He attended the USAF Special Capabilities School, focusing on Crane and Mobile Crane Operation, between 2014 and 2017. In 2014, he also completed training in Mobile Batch Plant Operations. Further, he attended the USAF Heavy Equipment Operator Tech School in 2009 and the USAF Air Transportation Tech School in 2006.
