Current Role at Save the Children
Tamirat Estifanos serves as the Regional Finance Coordinator for the Save the Children UK North Program. In this role, he reconciles debtors' and creditors' accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis. He ensures that unmatched accounts are reviewed each month and acts as the focal person for receiving charges made to the country program from members. He reallocates these charges to different awards to maintain a zero balance monthly.

Tamirat Estifanos has extensive experience with Save the Children UK, having held several positions over the years. He worked as a Deputy Finance Supervisor from 2002 to 2004 and as a Senior Accountant from 2000 to 2002. He also served as a Senior Finance Supervisor from 2004 to 2010 and as a Financial Analyst from 2010 to 2012. His tenure at Save the Children UK spans multiple roles, contributing to his expertise in financial management.
Education and Qualifications
Tamirat Estifanos has a diverse educational background. He studied Accounting at Century University of California, earning a Bachelor's degree from 1990 to 1993. He furthered his studies in Accounting and Finance, obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Los Angeles, from 2002 to 2005. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Project Management from St. Mary's University of Ethiopia, completed from 2016 to 2019. He also achieved a Diploma in Management from Alemya University from 1988 to 1992 and a Diploma in Accounting from AA University College of Commerce from 1981 to 1983.
Financial Management Responsibilities
In his current position, Tamirat Estifanos is responsible for amortizing Save the Children International prepayments monthly to different awards and reconciling the balance. He ensures that all Gifts in Kind (GIK) commodities received and distributed are booked according to SCI GIK guidelines and reconciles them with logistics and programs on a quarterly basis.
