Managing Director Technology Solutions
Mark Tierney currently holds the position of Managing Director - Technology Solutions at SEI in Oaks, Pennsylvania. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of SEI's private cloud and Kubernetes-based enterprise container platform. Mark guides a global team of five senior IT Directors and over 200 personnel in managing a wide range of technologies, including EMC, VMWare, Cisco, Microsoft, Microsoft365, Oracle, Rancher/Docker, Linux, Windows, and public cloud applications on Microsoft Azure.
Career at SEI
Mark Tierney has been with SEI since June 1999. Throughout his tenure, he has been responsible for managing and operating SEI's data center operations, corporate IT and communications, system administration, database administration, middleware, network, identity access management, service desk support, business application support, and CMDB system. His extensive experience and leadership have been integral to the company's technological advancements and operational efficiency.
US Navy Experience
Before joining SEI, Mark Tierney served as a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy from 1993 to 1998. His service included significant responsibilities, and the experience provided a solid foundation in leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise. This military background has been instrumental in shaping his approach to managing large, complex technology operations in his current role at SEI.
