About Bee Grandinetti
I grew up in the warm lands of Brazil, in Belo Horizonte (not by the beach I'm afraid) where I spent my childhood and teenage years being a good nerdy girl, drawing the people around me and struggling to fit in. Things got better as a young adult and I found my tribe at UEMG's Graphic Design program, where I studied for 4 years. I graduated in 2011 and ended up moving to São Paulo, where I worked designing keynote presentations for a year and a half (I know it sounds a bit lame but it was actually pretty awesome). I decided it was time to give my motion fling a proper chance, so I packed my stuff and went to Stockholm in 2013 to study motion graphics at Hyper Island. Apparently moving to glacial Sweden wasn't enough of a comfort zone stretch for me, so I ended up moving to London straight after, thirsty for more knowledge and milky tea. After lots of great learnings through different internships I've started freelancing in 2015 and since then I've been incredibly lucky to have worked with some of people I admire the most in this industry - and to have found wonderful friends amongst them too :) (I also ended up moving back to Stockholm - flats in London are overpriced and moldy). Currently, I spend my hours between freelancing and a couple of ongoing side projects: - I co-founded an online community for women, trans and non-binary people working with animation and motion called Panimation. - I've been helping Hyper Island develop their Motion program in multiple different ways as an Educational consultant for the past few years.
