In this role, she manages the System Planning Engineering Team, which is responsible for ensuring the health of the distribution system that serves over 1.7 million customers across three states. Her responsibilities include advising senior leadership on future capital projects, providing hydraulic justification, and determining the timing for necessary infrastructure improvements. She develops strategies to support company capital project initiatives and evaluates load and pressure requirements for gas-burning equipment.

Julie King earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Alabama, where she studied from 1998 to 2003. Background
Before joining Spire, Julie King held several engineering positions. She worked as a Project Engineer at Handex Consulting & Remediation, LLC from 2005 to 2007 in Tampa, Florida. Following that, she served as a Project Engineer at PPM Consultants, Inc. from 2008 to 2011 in Birmingham, Alabama. She then progressed to Alagasco, where she worked as a Senior System Planning Engineer from 2011 to 2016 before assuming her current role at Spire.

In her capacity as Manager of System Planning at Spire, Julie King oversees the development and execution of 15-20 year Master Infrastructure Replacement Plans and peak day Reinforcement Projects. Her work involves critical planning and management of infrastructure projects that ensure the reliability and efficiency of the gas distribution system.
