Damien Gauthier is currently serving in multiple professional roles. He is the Director of Product and User Experience (UX) Design at SQLI in the Lausanne Area, Switzerland, where he also works as a Lean Innovation Consultant and User Experience Designer. Additionally, he is a Co-founder and Collective Intelligence Expert at Kokrea Lab in Geneva, Switzerland. Damien Gauthier has a comprehensive educational background. He earned a PhD in Mathematical Statistics and Probability and a Master's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. He also holds a Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Geneva and a Professional Acting Degree from the Ecole du Theatre des Teintureries. Moreover, he studied at Harvard Business School Online, earning a Certificate in Strategy Execution.
Past Professional Experience
Before his current roles, Damien Gauthier held several positions in academia and the industry. He was a Lecturer (chargé de cours) and a Scientific Collaborator - Teaching Assistant at EPFL, as well as a Research and Teaching Assistant. Outside academia, he founded and directed Alice in W and Cie Tête en l'air as a Producer, Stage Director, and Actor. He also worked as a Frontend Developer at fabric | ch (office for architecture, interaction & research).
Leadership and Team Management
In his role at SQLI, Damien Gauthier leads a team of 8 Product and UX designers. He is also notably involved in digital transformation and innovation teams. His work includes developing digital workplaces and design operations environments that encourage new ways of working and enhancing user experiences for digital products, services, and applications, including chatbots and voice assistants.
Volunteering and Personal Interests
Damien Gauthier dedicates time to volunteering by coaching startups both locally and via Skype. He also curates and holds the license for the TEDxLausanne conference. Outside his professional commitments, he has a background in professional acting and directing, and he practices Japanese in his spare time.
