My research goals include both the pursuit of basic science and the development of computing applications and algorithms as real-time and robust as natural computations. My core PhD research includes: Computational and System Neuroscience, Areas of Concentration: Vision, Modeling Understand how object motion analysis emerges at the perceptual level by understanding mechanisms at the cellular and circuit levels in the retina which encode the visual information Computer Vision/ Image Processing, Areas of Concentration: Dynamical Vision, Object Detection and Recognition, Pattern Recognition and Statistical Learning, Image and Video Analysis Develop a computational algorithm to detect, segment and track multiple moving objects in the presence of observer motion Specialties: Signal Processing, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Computational Neuroscience, Biology-inspired Machine Vision, Computational Modeling, Machine Learning, Optimization, Applied Statistics, Matlab, C/C++
