About Ryan O'connor, Cfm
After studying Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Costal Marine Processes and Conservation at the University of Virginia, I have developed a deep understanding of not only the physical processes of the environment, but also the intricate web of policy and economic factors that shape how we view and manage our natural resources. My experiences in field studies in Belize diversified that experience to include international policy and the importance of the environmental outside of the United States. During my time in the Navy, I organized a variety of events, ranging in complexity from day-to-day physical training to formal functions and ceremonies. I also worked as an administrative officer, dealing with Human Resources for both active duty officers and students in training. As the manager of the University of Virginia Baseball team, I assisted in the coordination of logistics and baseball operations for a top-tier Division 1 NCAA baseball program through 60+ game seasons played around the country as part of the 2015 NCAA Division 1 national champion Virginia Cavaliers. As associate photo editor of the student newspaper at UVa, I developed not only photography skills, but gained experience in online and print sports media, covering Division 1 NCAA Basketball, Football, and Baseball.
