About Whitney Chrisman

I am currently a Team Lead Attorney at Stange Law Firm PC. This position includes supervision of the Topeka, Wichita, Oklahoma City, and Overland Park offices within Stange Law Firm. I handle a wide variety of Family Law and Probate matters. I provide clients with competent, communicative, and diligent services. I am dedicated to working with clients to achieve their best possible outcome. Previously, I was employed at the Kansas State Board of Indigents' Defense Services. This criminal defense position handled primarily felony case assignments. This position involved multiple daily court appearances, trial experience (both jury and bench), and client interaction in office and at the Sedgwick County Jail. I also worked closely with the District Attorney's Office to resolve cases in a timely matter. As an Associate Attorney at CornerStone Law LLC, and was assigned a mix of Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Probate matters. In this position I secured my first Not Guilty Verdict. I worked for the first year of my career for the State of Missouri 24th Judicial Circuit. This position was a hybrid of civil and criminal law. On the criminal side, I prosecuted juvenile delinquents. On the civil side I worked with different agencies to ensure the safety and permanency of abused and neglected children within the four counties of the 24th Circuit. I also performed contract work as a Guardian ad Litem in adoption and guardianship cases. I was admitted to the Missouri Bar in September 2016 and the Kansas Bar in September 2017. I received my Juris Doctor degree in May of 2016 from the Washburn University School of Law. While at Washburn I focused my education on Family Law and Local Government Law. I was able to actively practice with my Legal Student Practicing License granted by the Kansas Supreme Court. I was also actively engaged in the Washburn Law Clinic in the areas of Civil and Family Law. I was the legal intern for the Shawnee County Counselor's Office during my second and third year of law school. This position entailed working with Bond Forfeitures, Kansas Tax Code, Zoning, Planning, Soil Erosion, and Nuisance Violations, in addition to Worker's Compensation, and contract formation and review. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband Shane and my family, and playing disc golf, home improvement, tending to my plants, and trail runs with my labradoodle Daisy and my dalmadoodle Rosalina.
