About Jennifer Star ⭐️
I walked into deaf night at a bar my senior year at Northeastern University, and walked out with a passion; to learn sign language and teach deaf children. After receiving my MA Degree in Deaf Education at Columbia University, Teachers College I taught in public schools and private schools for the deaf in NYC for 6 years. One night. One Experience. Changed the direction of my life. It was my years working with the deaf community that I learned about communication, the power of compassion and the difference between listening and hearing. I have found this skill to be one of the most useful and powerful tools I have in my toolbox and have used this throughout my career as a Recruiter and Teacher. When I moved out to SF in 1996 and "fell in to recruiting"; I found my purpose. * To educate and prepare women for a seamless and successful job search at all stages of their administrative career. * Represent C-Level Administrative Talent in their job search. Throughout my 27 years representing high level Talent in the Administrative Pillar, I have had the opportunity to be a part of amazing moments that have inspired me, allowed me to learn and become the person I am today. I have grown up in my career alongside so many of the greatest Administrative Leaders and feel proud having been the one to place them in their first job and watched them grow with my client over the years to Chief of Staff. I am grateful for each experience, connection and person I met along the way who taught me about myself through being a part of their journey, who believed in me enough to teach me, who saw my potential and gave me a chance, took the time to mentor me, train me and leave a mark on my achievements. It is because of the people that impacted my life so much that I built a career on paying it forward and try to help, guide and support those who come to me for help in their career search and companies who want a partner to build their businesses. The people we meet, the formal and hands on education & experiences we have, help to shape our personal and professional life. I enjoy sharing what I discover along the way with my network and look forward to following, learning and being inspired by those I am connected with. I never know what will cross my desk, but I do like to know who to call if it's something, or someone, they are looking for. :-)
