Dr. Seldon Benjamin currently serves as the Applications Engineering Lead MEA APAC at Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL), a position he has held since 2022 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Prior to this role, he worked as the Principal Solutions Architect MEA at STL from 2019 to 2022, also based in Dubai. During his tenure at STL, he contributed to the development of the industry's first universal fibre known as 'Stellar'. His contributions included being a prominent contributor to Corning’s Performance Excellence Initiative, which resulted in $1.5 billion in savings over eight years. His diverse roles at Corning reflect a strong foundation in optical technologies and project management.
Education and Expertise
Dr. Benjamin earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, where he studied from 1986 to 1991. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, obtained between 1982 and 1986. His academic background supports his expertise in fiber-optic communications, evidenced by his authorship of 54 technical publications and a book chapter in the field.
