Sudipta Bhaumik has published over 40 technical papers focusing on quality, reliability, and application issues related to optical fiber and cable. He is a two-time recipient of the Urbain J.H. Malo medal for best technical paper awarded by the Wire Association International. Additionally, he was the first Indian to receive the prestigious IEC 1906 award from IEC TC86 Fibre Optics, highlighting his contributions to the field.
Professional Contributions and Leadership
Sudipta Bhaumik has been an active member of various professional organizations. He served as a member of the panel of examiners for the Indian Merchant Chambers – Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award from 2005 to 2007. He is also a Vice Chair of ITU-T Study Group 15 and has been involved with Qimpro as an examiner for the Qualtech prize since 2010. His leadership extends to being an expert member of ITU-T Study Group 15 and working groups of IEC SC 86A & 86B.
