About Daniel Gomez Seidel
My essential bio: I want to live life like Keith Jarrett plays the piano at the 1972 Köln Concert. For a more formal introduction: Hi there! I'm Daniel, a heart-centered Colombian strategist who’s navigated the immigrant's journey through wit, kindness, and a relentless focus on being real. Through extensive education, honest work, and candid relationships I have pursued an exciting career as a lateral-thinking strategist and doer. I'm known for simplifying complex situations, executing edge ideas, and collaborating effectively with others by integrating methodologies from non-traditional fields such as cultural studies, psychology, systems/ecological thinking, design, and philosophy. I started my career at boutique consulting agencies and later joined Capital One Bank as a design-thinking expert. Besides my role as a product and design strategy leader, I worked directly for the CEO, contributing a cultural-emotional perspective to the bank’s corporate strategy team. I also initiated a nationwide Mindfulness Program during the pandemic. Throughout my tenure at the bank, I managed a team, received two promotions, supported the launch of award-winning digital products, and conducted extensive research on the emotional relationships between finance and families across America. I also taught product strategy at the executive and post-grad university levels. In 2021, I left Capital One to pursue a more diverse range of work. Since then, through my consulting studio, I've engaged in meaningful projects across multiple industries in 4 continents and 3 languages. I have improved sexual harassment resolution standards with the United Nations, conducted field research on political refugees, and co-designed a next-gen educational platform on Web3. I have also advised Fortune 100 executives on the topic of employee culture, and led product strategy and research for a startup in the artificial intelligence and professional development space. To my clients, I offer a nuanced understanding of how socio-cultural, behavioral, and technological trends may influence their work, presenting findings in creative and strategic languages. Most recently, I started the innovation and transformation firm inplural, out of New York City, where I work with my favorite collaborators to help large companies connect the dots between their marketing promises, their organizational culture, and the products and services they put out into the world.
