Previous Experience at SWIFT
Before becoming Head of UX, Vassilev worked at SWIFT in various capacities. He served as the Lead Web Applications Architect from 2001 to 2007, followed by his role as Lead UX Expert and Product Manager from 2007 to 2014. During his tenure, he co-led the customer experience corporate transformation program and contributed to the design of significant products such as the SWIFTgpi payments tracker and the KYC Registry platform. His work has been instrumental in shaping SWIFT's approach to user experience.
Education and Professional Development
Vassilev holds an Executive MBA from the Solvay Brussels School, which he completed in 2008. He also has an undergraduate degree in Telecommunications from New Bulgarian University, where he studied from 1998 to 2000. Additionally, he earned an Associate degree in Business Administration from Prof. Ivan Apostolov College, studying from 1994 to 1998. His educational background supports his expertise in user experience and product management.
Teaching and Mentoring Roles
From 2014 to 2017, Vassilev served as a Guest Lecturer at Solvay Brussels School, where he shared his knowledge in user experience and design thinking with students. He also acts as a startup incubator coach for SWIFT's innovation arm, Innotribe, guiding emerging businesses in developing user-centric solutions.
