I enjoy enforcing, acquiring, and protecting intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights. I have counseled my clients on a variety of IP matters, including licensing, due diligence, and portfolio strategy. I am registered to practice before the USPTO and am experienced in patent prosecution.My practice encompasses intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on patent infringement actions, as well as actions related to copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, rights of publicity, and unfair competition. I am experienced in all stages of litigation, including Markman hearings, depositions, pretrial investigation, discovery, motions, appellate work, and most importantly, trial.I represent clients across a broad spectrum of technological areas, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, software, construction materials, safety and security technologies, business methods, pet care products, and telecommunications.I possess a MS degree in chemistry and a technical background in synthetic organic chemistry. I represent several generic clients in Hatch-Waxman (ANDA) litigation.During law school, I clerked with the IP department of a Fortune 500 corporation's pharmaceutical division. Upon graduation, I clerked with Chief Magistrate Judge Raymond L. Erickson, United States District Court, District of Minnesota.
