About Jane Hu

I work at the intersection of content and technology. I've been both an investor and an operator, and over my career I've started, scaled, advised, and sold businesses across multiple industries. I have particularly deep experience in what's now considered the creator economy or passion economy. I currently lead the creative professional community at Adobe. I'm also an award-winning freelance and fine art photographer. My photography has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, The Ellen Show, Playboy, Fast Company, and other outlets. I have been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum and other institutions. See my portfolio at janehu.com and at instagram.com/plainjane. Prior to joining Adobe, I ran programming and production at Amazon's radio startup Amp. I led content and community at PicsArt, the world’s largest creative platform and social editing app. I also founded and ran Nonesuch Media, a content strategy company providing both thought leadership and tangible content execution in fields as diverse as edtech, telecom, podcasting, and the future of work. I spent 5 years at Alphabet / Google across three primary roles: I built and led the business and operations side of Original Programming at YouTube. I invested and acquired startups in the YouTube ecosystem. And I led Global Creator Programs and Programming Strategy for YouTube's innovation group. Prior to Google, I co-founded a new media studio called Vuguru that produced and distributed Emmy-nominated digital TV shows. I was an investor at former Disney CEO Michael Eisner's investment firm. And I started my career in Corporate Strategic Planning at Disney. I love what I do and am an avid speaker on digital media at engagements including SXSW, Montreal StartupFest, the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, Internet Week NY, Digital Hollywood, Mediapost OMMA, X Media Lab, and the MBA Media Entertainment Conference.
