About πŸ›« Stephan Grynwajc πŸ›¬

Admitted as a lawyer in France, England & Wales, Canada, and the U.S., I advise companies from the technology sector in their installation and operations in the EU, the UK, Canada, and the U.S. My firm, The Transatlantic Lawyer, is a full service corporate, transactional and regulatory boutique law firm dedicated to supporting companies looking to expand into Europe and North America. I assist our clients in all stages of their development, from setting up their corporate presence in the U.S., Canada, England, or France, to providing them with the tools to succeed in their daily business operations in any or all of these countries. I draft or localise my clients' contracts, website or app terms, as well as their company policies for use in the U.S., Canada and Europe, and I assist my clients in negotiating their contracts and other terms of engagement with local prospects and clients. I also advise my clients in all aspects of technology law, software law, cyberlaw, internet law, computer, e-commerce, IP and IT law, as well as social media law, privacy (see below) and data security law, under French, English, European, Canadian and U.S. law. On the privacy side, I advise my clients in complying with EU, UK, Canadian and U.S. privacy laws, e.g., the EU GDPR, the California CCPA, the Canadian PIPEDA, and the myriad of U.S. state laws and regulations, national EU privacy legislations, and Canadian provincial privacy laws. I draft and update various privacy-related documentation, both internal (e.g., HR privacy policies, data security, incident response/data breach, data retention policies, registers of processing activities, privacy impact assessments) and external (e.g., privacy policies and other notices, cookies notices, data processing agreements and other international data transfer agreements, incl. EU standard contractual clauses (SCCs) and UK International Data Transfer Agreements). My multi-jurisdictional expertise allows me to draft privacy documentation which satisfies both European (EU and UK) and U.S./Canada legal requirements, thereby enabling my clients to streamline their compliance efforts. I also have an active DPO activity, acting as a DPO (Data Protection Officer) for a number of my clients. Prior to creating my firm I occupied over a period of 15 years a number of leadership positions as in-house legal and privacy counsel at various international technology companies, e.g., Intel and Symantec, out of the EU, the UK, and the U.S. Please visit my firm's website at www.transatlantic-lawyer.com for more information
