Key Projects and Initiatives
Changcheng Sun played a pivotal role during the Vancouver Winter Olympics by enhancing the UMTS/HSPA network's performance. He achieved this by adding a third carrier to key locations and adjusting Call Admission Control to prevent congestion. Sun also developed a solution for optimizing inter-frequency handover parameters, resulting in a more than 40% reduction in call drop ratios in Huawei UMTS/HSPA networks nationwide.
RF Script Generation and Network Rollout
As part of Telus' UMTS/HSPA network rollout, Changcheng Sun generated and loaded RF scripts. This included updating Neighbor lists and activating critical features such as cell selection & reselection, HSPA steering, and admission control. He also set up UMTS/HSPA inter-RNC handover with Bell Mobility to improve network performance and user experience.
EVDO Carrier Addition and CDMA Site Expansion
In 2007, Changcheng Sun successfully added EVDO carriers to approximately 250 CDMA sites by generating and implementing DOM scripts, followed by supporting drive tests to ensure efficient carrier turn-up. He also turned up 70 new CDMA sites, split about 20 existing ones, and added voice carriers to around 60 sites, improving network coverage and capacity.
