Katie Slink is currently an Assistance Dogs Trainer. She joined The Ability Center in early 2023, where she focuses on training dogs to assist individuals with various needs.

Katie Slink earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Organismal Biology from the University of Toledo. She also completed a minor in Sustainability Studies. Her academic background provided a strong foundation for her roles in zoology and animal training.
Katie Slink Professional Background
Katie Slink has extensive experience working in various zoological settings. She started her career as a seasonal zookeeper at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and eventually became a year-round zookeeper. During her tenure, she worked with animals such as red pandas and ring-tailed lemurs. Later, she worked in the Small Mammal Department at the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium, where she also trained red pandas.

During middle school, Katie Slink dedicated over 800 hours to the Toledo ZOO Teen volunteer program. Her commitment to volunteering highlights her passion for animals and early interest in zoological work.
Katie Slink Personal Life and Interests
Katie Slink lives in Swanton with her fiancé Eric and their miniature schnauzer, Zoey. In her free time, she enjoys exploring local parks and nature preserves, visiting zoos and aquariums, and traveling to northern Michigan.
