About Maysel Kemp White, PhD

In the field of healthcare, listening and caring are key. When physicians are overworked and stressed, the care they offer patients is affected. I help frustrated clinicians and healthcare leaders enhance their interpersonal skills so that they can have more satisfying workplace relationships and better health outcomes for their patients. I help people revise their strategies and develop new communication skills in order to improve the quality of life for themselves and their patients. When this happens, healthcare professionals get excited and re-ignite the fire of their passion for patient care. And, patient experience improves. I have a doctorate in family therapy and systems change along with over two decades of experience in facilitating interpersonal, interprofessional, and organizational change. All collaborations are focused on adult learning, learner-centered principles, positive psychology approaches, self-reflection, simulations, and behavioral feedback. When we can identify and leverage an individual’s strengths and also provide the right tools, they are able to find their way to practicing behaviors they value and want to be known for. My services utilize a strengths-based, appreciative approach and capitalize on the power of simulation. Simulation allows us to look at mistakes and use the feedback to improve and cultivate our skills. In this setting, attendees get to try again until it feels right, is consist with their values and desired outcomes, and becomes habit. I also bring my expertise on the power of family legacies and family of origin patterns to examine each person’s ability to make choices to change. I help people analyze their internal dialogues and assumptions. Contact me and we can talk about how I can collaborate with you to co-create solutions that are consistent with your values, preferences, and vision in achieving a safe, high-quality patient experience.
