He later pursued a Master of Arts in International Economics and Energy, Resources, and Environment at The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, he obtained a Graduate Certificate in Environment Resources Policy from The George Washington University from 2019 to 2020. De Sousa also studied at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for 11 months in 2007.
Professional Experience in Sustainability
Before his current position, Kehan De Sousa held various roles related to sustainability and education. He worked as a Teaching Assistant at Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth from 2009 to 2011. He served as a Program Associate at the Center for Responsible Travel in 2013 and completed a research internship at Northeast Group, LLC in 2017. De Sousa also gained experience as a U.S. Climate Intern at the World Resources Institute in 2017.
Contributions to Environmental Initiatives
Kehan De Sousa has made significant contributions to environmental initiatives at The George Washington University. He created and implemented the GW Campus Tree Protection Plan and served as project manager for the initiative to eliminate single-use plastics on campus. He also developed a biodiversity baseline for the university campus and advocated for sustainable practices at the GW Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Summit by organizing a panel for Sustainable GW.
