I'm Géraldine Le Meur, a French-American entrepreneur and early-stage investor committed to fostering innovation and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit. 🚀 Entrepreneurial Journey: At 23, I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey, driven by a passion for shaping the evolving tech landscape while balancing my aspiration to build a family. Entrepreneurship became my avenue for achieving this delicate but key equilibrium. Since 1995, I've founded and led successful ventures in the tech ecosystem, including a web agency, web hosting company, pioneering blogging platform, and the influential LeWeb event, connecting Silicon Valley's leaders with Europe. 💼 Angel Investor: As an Angel Investor, I've had the privilege to invest in influential companies like LinkedIn, LendingClub, Teads, Evernote, and Animoca Brands. My investments are grounded in a belief in the transformative power of technology and innovation led by amazing people. Teams are key to success! 🌐 Frenchfounders Inc.: In November 2020, I joined Frenchfounders as a Partner in New York, where I lead the FrenchFounders fund and investing practice. Our vision is to foster a genuine Network Effect in the investment value chain. We're more than financial backers; we're deeply invested in supporting entrepreneurs expanding abroad. We offer a holistic ecosystem, including talent recruitment, business development, warm introductions, and trust-building. Our robust French-speaking community of 4000+ members supports entrepreneurs during the crucial Seed to Series A phase. Since early 2021, we've invested in 33 companies, accelerating their growth. 🚀 The Refiners: In 2016, I co-founded my first VC fund, The Refiners, based in San Francisco, dedicated to supporting foreign founders. The Refiners Fund I has backed 56 innovative companies, reinforcing my commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent. 📚 Author and Advocate: In 2019, I published "Comme elles entreprenez votre vie!" to demystify female entrepreneurship and empower women with real-life role models, inspiring the next generation of female entrepreneurs. 🎓 Education and Board Roles: I graduated from SKEMA Business School in 1995. I serve on the boards of SKEMA Business School and advisory boards for several startups.
