About Matthew Davis

I am currently a Co-founder and Creative Director at The Savage Bureau, a bay-area based digital agency with a driving mission to create bold brand experiences that result in transformative outcomes. With over 25 years of design experience, I have a passion for leading, mentoring, and inspiring my team on every engagement, and for exploring, challenging, and pushing the limits of design thinking and problem solving. I have worked with clients across various industries and geographies, from Audi and Target to BBVA and Sony, delivering trailblazing, inspired, and successful brand experiences. My specialties include creative direction, branding, UX design, web design, product design, and typography. I've been described as having a taste for the hip, exotic edge, with a modern, laid-back, confident style that communicates and flows comfortably on any continent. As Steve Jobs said, "The Journey is the Reward", and I feel lucky to have had such a diverse and rewarding journey thus far in my design career. To date, my design career has taken me everywhere from documenting solar array installations in remote areas of Brazil, to helping rebrand a global bank in Madrid, to directing a poolside commercial video shoot in the hills of Orange County at a gorgeous rented out Eichler. I feel lucky to have played a vital role in establishing core conceptual and brand experiences for companies ranging from Audi and Target to Charles Schwab, BBVA, Sony, and Williams Sonoma while holding senior positions at well-known digital agencies Spring Studio, AKQA, Euro RSCG and Kadium. In a former life I operated as a DJ and Master of Ceremonies/Disguises at some of San Francisco’s premiere dance parties: ‘Club Neon’, ‘Debaser’ and ‘Last Nite’.
