Prior to her current position, Megan Brown worked at PacifiCorp from 1993 to 2006, where she held various roles including Volunteer Coordinator and Specialist in Public Relations/Communications. During her 13 years there, she established a nonprofit board training program that successfully trained 250 employees and resulted in 65 officers serving on nonprofit boards. She also developed the Dollar for Doers program, which provided internal funding to support employees' preferred local charities.

Megan Brown studied Outdoor Education at Mt. Hood Community College, where she achieved a Certificate from 1998 to 2000. She also pursued further education at Marylhurst University. Megan Brown coordinated a high school internship program in collaboration with Human Resources, successfully hosting over 40 students from De La Salle North Catholic High School.
