About York Zucchi
In a career spanning 31 years across over 11 countries, creating projects & businesses that have impacted people's lives in over 83 countries, I'm one of the luckiest people I know: doing what I love most, which is making a difference in the lives of startups, entrepreneurs and SMEs everywhere. I am passionate about leaving the world in a better state than we found it in and to this end I am involved in a number of global initiatives including The StartUp Tribe whose mission is to help 50 million people start and grow their businesses. I also love sharing knowledge and have to date done over 500 lectures, workshops and webinars around the world (especially around my two areas of expertise: entrepreneurship and access to markets). I have been also blessed in having been allowed to mentor some truly amazing people in the process who have gone on to make a real difference in their communities. I have started various businesses across healthcare, IT, tourism, academia, etc: some failed and some succeeded. Our work has been featured by the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, MIT, Harvard and even the space agency NASA (that's another story altogether!). Before becoming an entrepreneur I worked for large international companies (Goldman Sachs, etc). My superpower? Starting and growing projects from idea to prototype to early commercialisation. I drink way too much coffee which might be a contributing factor to the fact that I see the world around me full of opportunities and good people doing amazing things.
