Before her career in user experience design, Lila Gilbert worked as a Youth Worker and Program Coordinator at YMCA Camp Icaghowan from 1999 to 2005 for six years. She also gained experience in event management as the Festival & Event Manager at Beer Dabbler from 2018 to 2020 for two years in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area.
