Earlier, Marc was CEO at Dencor Industries in 2006-2007 and managed projects at Labor Construction for eight years.

Marc Toerien studied Civil Engineering Technology at Witwatersrand Technicon from 1993 to 1995. He completed his Matric at Milner High School from 1985 to 1989. His background in civil engineering includes the construction of major freeways, notable bridges, and infrastructure projects such as sewage and water reticulation.

Marc Toerien has extensive experience managing both greenfield and brownfield petrochemical projects, including a Multiproduct Pipeline and a rebuild of a damaged Polypropylene plant. He possesses multi-disciplinary management skills across civil, mechanical, piping, instruments, and electrical disciplines, and has been involved in upgrading an existing Chlorine plant.
