Before joining Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions, Mohamed Sayed held multiple roles at PGESCo from 2007 to 2019. Over his 12-year tenure, he served as Deputy Instrumentation and Control Systems EGS, DCS Technical Committee Member, Control Valves Technical Committee Member, and DCS Readiness Review Team Member. His responsibilities included overseeing the development, coordination, and review of engineering activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and conducting equipment factory acceptance tests and site inspections.

Education and Advanced Studies

Mohamed Sayed holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cairo University, earned between 2011 and 2015. He also completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering at Cairo University, from 2002 to 2007. His academic background provides a strong foundation in control systems engineering.

Design and Engineering Expertise

Sayed has extensive experience in the design and engineering of various types of power plants, such as supercritical, combined cycle, simple cycle, and concentrated solar power plants. He is skilled in planning, developing, and coordinating engineering activities within the Instrumentation and Controls discipline. This includes the preparation of technical specifications, datasheets, calculations, and logic/functional diagrams.

Project Life Cycle Management

Mohamed has a comprehensive understanding of all stages of the project life cycle in both EPC and EPCM contracts, from the FEED stage to start-up. He interprets and verifies industry standards, guidelines, and codes such as ASME, NFPA, ISA, and IEEE for project deliverables and coordinates with client representatives to achieve project approvals.

Research and Technical Expertise

In addition to his professional role, Mohamed has conducted research in the field of controllers tuning, power plant control philosophies, process modeling, and multi-objective optimization methods using artificial intelligence techniques. He is particularly experienced in analyzing, controlling, and optimizing PV-Hybrid grids systems using AI and ML tools.
