He studied Werktuigbouwkunde at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where he completed his studies from 1992 to 2000. Prior to that, he achieved a propedeuse in Lucht-en ruimtevaarttechniek from Technische Universiteit Delft, where he studied from 1990 to 1992. He completed his secondary education by obtaining his VWO from Dr F.H. de Bruijnelyceum between 1984 and 1990.
