Matt Myren joined Trecora in 2022 as the General Counsel. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the legal department, corporate compliance, and risk reduction strategies for the company and its subsidiaries. His comprehensive legal expertise plays a critical role in guiding Trecora's operations and ensuring regulatory adherence.
Extensive Legal Experience
Before joining Trecora, Matt Myren served as General Counsel for several companies under private equity ownership for 14 years. His extensive legal experience also includes over 12 years in the legal department at Sears, where he handled complex transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities, procurement, merchandising, IT, and HR legal work. Matt began his legal career as a corporate associate at the international law firm Skadden Arps in Chicago.
Education in Accounting and Law
Matt Myren earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of Iowa. His educational background has provided him with a strong foundation in both business and legal principles, aiding his effective management of corporate legal matters.
Volunteer Work and Community Involvement
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Matt Myren is active in volunteer work. He has served as President of the Barrington Area United Way and as President of a private school board. These roles underscore his commitment to community involvement and philanthropy.
