About Tara Ma Ginn

There are no “typical” days with my job, that’s why I love it! I could start the day negotiating a contract or teaching a class to my co-workers on ethics and compliance and end my day dealing with a HR issue. One minute I am managing outside counsel on a legal dispute, and the next I am talking to our corporate Risk Management Department. I am required to understand insurance, risk management, contract law, construction law, dispute resolution, federal and state regulations/laws, all in addition to maneuvering the internal workings of an international construction company, which happens to be the #1 healthcare builder in the United States! Since I am the only in-house counsel for southern Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida, I am required to have superior time management skills and the ability to handle high stress situations. All of my past positions have added skill sets that make me uniquely qualified for what I do. As a claims adjuster at State Farm Insurance, I dealt with investigating and assigning values to claims, dealing with attorneys, body shops, other insurance adjusters, and the public at large. While working at State Farm, I attended law school in the evenings. This helped me to become a master at time management. After law school I worked at Freund, Freeze, & Arnold where my practice focused on insurance and medical malpractice defense. I then was hired as a Staff Attorney at Baker & Hostetler where I represented Ford Motor Company, focusing on their “Lemon Law” defense. After moving to Middle Tennessee I left the law firm world and went in-house to work for Turner Construction Company. I am truly passionate about my work with Turner and the people I work with. I am currently licensed to practice law in Ohio. I am licensed as In-House/General Counsel in Tennessee.
