Hila Moss joined USCRI in November 2015 as a bilingual Staff Attorney with the Nuevo Comienzo program, focusing on representing unaccompanied minors. She ascended to the position of Managing Attorney in March 2019, where she implemented a cohesive management structure and secured new funding opportunities. In April 2022, she was promoted to Associate Director of Legal Services and further expanded the department. By December 2022, she took on her current role as Director of Legal Services.

Responsibilities and Initiatives

As Director of Legal Services, Hila Moss supervises the Project Director for USCRI’s government-funded Immigration Legal Services for Afghan Arrivals (ILSAA) contract. Under her leadership, the legal department has grown to encompass 14 offices with nearly 40 staff members. She also focuses on securing funding opportunities for pro-bono and low-bono legal representation for survivors of crime, trafficking, and unaccompanied minors.

Educational Background

Hila Moss holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Appalachian State University. She furthered her education by earning a Juris Doctorate from Campbell Law School. Her academic background has equipped her with the skills necessary for her extensive work in legal services.
