Greg Scopino serves as Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since 2023. Scopino held multiple positions at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from 2010 to 2021. He began as a Trial Attorney in the Division of Enforcement, where he civilly prosecuted complex financial fraud and market manipulation. He later served as Special Counsel in the Chief Counsel Unit and as Assistant Chief Counsel in the Division of Market Oversight, guiding federal regulation of derivatives and financial institutions.

Academic Contributions at Georgetown University Law Center

Since 2016, Scopino has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center. He teaches seminars on 'The Law and Ethics of Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics' and 'The Essentials of Fintech Law.'
