Matthias Uhl serves as the Head of Analytics & Quant Modelling (AQM) at UBS since 2018. He also holds the position of global lead for sentiment analytics for UBS Group.

He also holds an MSc in Economic & Social History from the University of Oxford and a BA in International Business Administration, History & Social Sciences from The American University of Paris. Before his current role at UBS, Matthias Uhl held various positions in the finance sector. He worked as a Senior Quantitative Analyst at UBS AG from 2011 to 2016 and as a Trader at UBS Investment Bank from 2008 to 2009. Uhl also served as Chief Investment Officer at FLYNT Bank AG from 2016 to 2018 and as an Economist at ETH Zurich from 2009 to 2011. His early career included roles at Deutsche Bank as a Commercial Banker and Full Service Financial Assistant from 2001 to 2003.

Matthias Uhl has been involved in academia as a lecturer at multiple institutions. He has taught at the University of Zurich since 2015 and at SFI Swiss Finance Institute since 2016.
