About Tanner Jones
I'm a Mechanical Engineer with a long history of contract work, touching many different industries within my profession. As a creative inside a technical field, not everything has been a great fit, but the right positions have allowed my strengths to shine. After working for myself for a long time, getting my hands on projects that matter to me, I accepted an engineering position at Tinker AFB; aerospace and defense have always been very interesting and important to me, so it was something I was thankful to come my way. Beyond being creative, I'm also very detail-oriented and passionate. A few of the things that drives these for me as an engineer include: • Solid 3D Modeling (using SolidWorks) • Rapid Prototyping and 3D Printing • Structural Analyses - Calculations and FEA • Performing Research and Development • Testing, collecting and interpreting data • Making exquisite Excel Spreadsheets 😉 What I don't get to do at that job, I can still happily do at my workshop at home.
